Story Behind ETN - The New Tech Obsession Of Europe

Ronan Chambers and Luke Knight went from a £150,000 angel round to a $1.6 million seed in under a year, driven by the belief that Europe needed a TBPN like live tech show. They are London-based, available on X and YouTube. It now broadcasts five days a week from a King's Cross studio.

ETN

Early Days

Ronan Chambers was a serial founder before ETN.

Luke Knight had a degree in investment banking, and he joined as an associate.

They felt confident in their ability to attract the right people to answer them because they were both young, based in London, and active in the start-up scene long before they launched ETN, which is about to disrupt the tech media landscape.

Founding the ETN

At first, the company planned to copy something similar to TBPN, the United States' leading tech vertical live stream founded by John Coogan and Jordie Hays.

It had managed to blend news, internet culture, and celebrity interviews.

Chambers and his partner wanted to do the same but for Europe; hence, ETN was born.

Their Show began airing in October 2025 every Tuesday and Thursday at 11 am and 2 pm GMT.

The episodes first aired simultaneously on X and YouTube, featuring interviews with the co-founder of Armis Security, Nadir Izrael, CEO of Attio, Nicolas Sharp, and Matt Clifford, an advisor to the UK government on the AI Opportunities Action Plan.

The Business Model

The founders raised £150,000 from 17 angel investors. ETN went the traditional media route, filling the show with sponsorship and advertising

The company's early sponsors included Polymarket & ElevenLabs.

The $1.6 Million Raise

Recently, ETN announced that it had raised $1.6 million in a seed funding round led by Powerhouse Capital, the German media conglomerate Axel Springer Group, and angels from OpenAI and DeepMind.

Part of the proceeds will go to hiring a former chief of staff at Bloomberg, a Tottenham Hotspur video journalist, and four ex-TBPN staff members.

In the meantime, Knight and Chambers are already hiring, with internship applications pouring in from over 300 candidates after two days.

The founders stated that the company would relocate to a new King's Cross studio at the center of London's AI eco-system.

They also plan to increase the number of days their shows air weekly from two to five and launch a daily newsletter.

Knight and Chamber believe that even though they are based in London, their publication covers Global News and not just the Europe.
